Door Knocking with GoodParty.org
Door knocking is one of the most effective ways to connect with voters. With GoodParty.org, you can create scripts, target doors, and log your conversations to keep track of voter support.
Writing Your Script
You have two ways to create door-knocking scripts:
- Content Builder:
- Go to Content Builder.
- Scroll to Outreach and Community Engagement.
- Choose from:
- Persuasive script
- Voter ID script
- Get Out the Vote script
- Select a script, then edit, copy, or translate it as needed.
- AI Assistant:
- Go to AI Assistant.
- Type a prompt like “Write a door knocking script to help me connect with voters.”
- Review the generated script, edit it, and refine if needed.
- You can also ask the AI for door-knocking tips and strategies.
💡 Always ask “Will you vote for me?” — it may feel uncomfortable, but it’s the best way to identify supporters vs undecided voters.
Pro Accounts: Advanced Door Knocking
If you’re a Pro account holder, you get extra features through your Dashboard and the Ecanvasser app.
- From your Dashboard, use the Door Knocking task to:
- Target voters
- Generate or edit a script
- Copy your script
- Download a voter list
- With Ecanvasser integration you can:
- Cut turf (divide maps into walkable areas)
- Create surveys for voters
- Log and track your conversations in the app
Using Ecanvasser for Door Knocking
- Log in to the app on your phone.
- View your map of houses to knock on.
- Use the map view to see streets and houses nearby, or sort your list by distance to find the closest doors.
- At each house:
- Open the voter record.
- Ask your prepared survey questions (e.g., “What are your top issues?” / “Will you vote for me?”).
- Log answers (Yes, Maybe, or No).
- Add notes or follow-up requests.
